We have been thinking long and hard about what nonprofit professionals need to accomplish their goals in their current roles, as well as what they need to take their careers to the next level. We identified four areas that are critical to success:
GUIDE your donors, board, and organization to action
Foster RELATIONSHIPS with your donors, prospective donors, and teammates
Identify OPPORTUNITIES for professional growth and personal development
Streamline WORK to help you become more efficient
It may surprise you to learn that when we start work with a client, often times what the nonprofit actually does and what donors think they do are not entirely the same. That’s why we use Donald Miller’s StoryBrand framework to redefine your mission’s purpose. For your next team meeting, have each of your team members complete this exercise and see how your responses compare.
Establishing new relationships takes time, but it doesn’t have to be hard or costly.
As Broad Oaks Consulting’s Susanna Fontenot points out, “social media platforms offer nonprofits an unparalleled way to reach diverse audiences…and successfully attract and steward donors by using social media.” Check out her blog to learn more!
